We’re delighted to ann0ounce that our very own Tim Mineard has been accepted as a candidate to train for the ministry of The Church of Scotland! Knowing Tim as we do, we were sure that he would be accepted but the news that he had been given the thumbs up was welcome none-the-less! We wish Tim and Fiona and the girls every good wish for all that lies ahead and we assure them of our ongoing prayerful and practical support.
Yesterday, we were hugely privileged to have Doug McRoberts as our guest preacher. Doug was formerly the minister of the Scots Kirk in Malta and under his leadership the congregation brought the ‘Out of Africa’ project into being – a direct response to the refugee crisis as it has impacted Malta in recent years. Our Vocations Volunteers arrived at the beginning of September and since Day 1 they’ve thrown themselves fully into the life of St. Andrew’s Church and out wider community. It’s as if they’ve always been with us, so quickly have they settled in! They come from quite different places and backgrounds and yet they’ve quickly formed a great team – a team that is already making a difference. While they will bring much to us in the remainder of their year, our hope is that their time will be instrumental in their discerning what God is leading them into in life.
Welcome Matthew, Chris and Amy!
