Leadership Group

As part of its re-shaping of inherited structures, the Kirk Session has developed a new way of offering leadership to the congregation. The first significant move was to form a Leadership Group. This is a much smaller body than the Kirk Session, and is able to engage in the kind of effective decision-making that larger, more cumbersome bodies often find difficult.

This group is given responsibility and authority by the Kirk Session to set direction and make strategic decisions concerning our immediate and long-term future. The Group is made up of the Minister and the Session Clerk and nine others, both elders and members of the wider congregation. These people have been selected for this task (with a number of them being elected by the Kirk Session) in the belief that they will bring the necessary gifts to it and that they can be trusted to take us forward in the right way.

Some members of the Leadership Group each serve as the Link person between a Core Group and the Leadership Group.
