Until last year St Andrew’s Church used the usual door-to door method of collecting during Christian Aid week.  We noticed a declining amount of money being raised together with difficulty being experienced through being regarded as door-to door salespersons!  In 2011 we tried a different approach.  We held a retiring offering and made the usual envelopes available.  The result was a far bigger sum of money was raised.  Those of our members who do not live in our parish area, were free to respond to those who may have called at their doors.
