Kirk Session

The Kirk Session is responsible, along with the minister, for the spiritual and practical aspects of local church life and for local church government. Members of the Kirk Session are called Elders. You don’t have to be old to be an elder, though! One of the elders is appointed as the Session Clerk, who carries out the administrative work involved in the Kirk Session.

Elders serve in various ways within the congregation, according to their gifts, and take part in regular meetings of the Kirk Session and Core Groups. These meetings are where key decisions about the congregation are made.
