Glenesk walkAn 18-strong group of men, ranging in age from 21 to 70, enjoyed a fantastic overnight trip to Glenesk, 13-14th September. The weather was kind to us and we saw our country at its absolute best. The advance party headed off at 5.30pm on Friday and established the camp at Tarfside. Tents were up in no time and before much longer a roaring fire was built and alight thanks to the ‘Bear Grylls’ tactics of Michael! Dinner was served and a great evening was spent chatting and joking around the fire as the sun went down to leave a still, clear, star-lit sky.

The morning dawned crisp and clear and by 7.45am the bacon and sausages were cooking, attracting those who hadn’t emerged from their sleeping bags to come out to join the gang! By 10am the camp was struck and the day-trippers had joined us. We drove the cars up to Loch Lee and set out on our hike, some opting for the low level route and others preferring the high level walk to the south of the loch.

The day finished with an excellent high tea at the Northern Hotel in Brechin. A BIG success!
