Worship

 Worship & Teaching Worship

St. Andrews considers worship to be central to its life. We are committed to offering worship that is alive and accessible. To that end, services are dynamic, Bible-based and thoroughly engaging. Furthermore, a range of different points in the week caters for different tastes and timetables.

What do we do when we worship? If you're not familiar with this activity, you might be wondering what you're in for if you come to St Andrew's on a Sunday morning! Take a look at this beginner's guide to worship for a guided tour through a service of worship.

We worship God in many different ways; by listening, singing, reading, talking, laughing, crying, moving. Although our worship follows the same general pattern each week, no two services are the same! In our services we use the fruits of the creative spirit that God gives us to worship, and our members are blessed with many talents; we have dancers, musicians, artists, storytellers, floral artists, actors, puppeteers and even a large pink cat (!), all bringing glory to God through our worship.

At St Andrew's we want to offer choice and opportunity - something for everyone. There are those who, for a whole lot of reasons, find Sunday morning worship unsuitable - either because of the timing, the length of the service, or for some personal reasons. Some, for example, are ill at ease in a large, and at times noisy crowd! Others will continue to worship every Sunday but will also enjoy a short time of worship halfway through the week. This is for YOU! In this smaller, more intimate gathering, the warmth of fellowship is guaranteed. This midweek meeting point is mostly led by the minister but from time to time, as proved necessary or desirable, others will offer the lead.

Intrigued? Then come along to a service of worship at St Andrew's and experience it for yourself!

SUNDAY
11am (10am July / August)
Bright, inclusive worship - with childrens' time - featuring both traditional and modern, topical preaching relating Biblical insights to this day and age.
4.30pm (last Sunday of the month)
Messy Church - worship for all ages, with crafts and a meal included. This is always a sellout, so if you want to come you have to book in!

8pm (1st Sunday of the month)
Off the W.O.L. Alternative worship that is Radical, Intimate, Original and True to who you are. Multimedia, interactive, cutting-edge ... “Behold, I make all things new.”

WEDNESDAY

10:30am
Midweek Meeting Point. Half-hour worship service followed by fellowship time. Praise, prayer, together with a short “thought for the day”.
7.30-9.30pm (as announced, several times a year - in conjunction with our Neighbourhood Groups)
Wednesday @ 7.30. Worship, learning in small groups based on the Sunday sermon, topic-based prayer in small groups, fellowship time.

For those who are housebound and unable to attend Sunday morning worship, we record our services and make a CD that can be delivered on a fortnightly basis. Please contact the church office if you would like more information about this. For able members, please note that we do not make CDs for folks who miss a week or two when on holiday, or for other reasons, as that would be a never-ending job and a half! Text and/or audio versions of the message preached during the service are available via the This week @ St Andrew's page of this website.
