St. Andrews considers worship to be central to its life. We are committed to offering worship that is alive and accessible. To that end, services are dynamic, Bible-based and thoroughly engaging. Furthermore, a range of different points in the week caters for different tastes and timetables.
What do we do when we worship? If you're not familiar with this activity, you might be wondering what you're in for if you come to St Andrew's on a Sunday morning! Take a look at this beginner's guide to worship for a guided tour through a service of worship.
We worship God in many different ways; by listening, singing, reading, talking, laughing, crying, moving. Although our worship follows the same general pattern each week, no two services are the same! In our services we use the fruits of the creative spirit that God gives us to worship, and our members are blessed with many talents; we have dancers, musicians, artists, storytellers, floral artists, actors, puppeteers and even a large pink cat (!), all bringing glory to God through our worship.
At St Andrew's we want to offer choice and opportunity - something for everyone. There are those who, for a whole lot of reasons, find Sunday morning worship unsuitable - either because of the timing, the length of the service, or for some personal reasons. Some, for example, are ill at ease in a large, and at times noisy crowd! Others will continue to worship every Sunday but will also enjoy a short time of worship halfway through the week. This is for YOU! In this smaller, more intimate gathering, the warmth of fellowship is guaranteed. This midweek meeting point is mostly led by the minister but from time to time, as proved necessary or desirable, others will offer the lead.
