What’s A Blog?

blog tag cloudIf you’re new to blogs, you may be wondering what exactly a blog IS. In its simplest form, a blog is an online journal or log, with entries that are listed in chronological order, the most recent entries first. The term “blog” is an abbreviation of “web log”, and entries in a blog are called posts. A person who writes a blog is known as a blogger.

The beauty of blogs is that they allow you to comment on or reply to what the blogger has written, and to see the comments that other people have made to a post. You can also comment on the comments, and in this way a blog can turn into a conversation.

You don’t have to be a member of St Andrew’s (or a even a Christian) to contribute comments; all we ask is that any comments you leave should be reasonably civil and productive. You’re free to disagree with a post, but we expect that you’ll do that with respect; in other words, treat others as you want them to treat you (now where have we heard that before?… 🙂 We reserve the right to  remove comments, although from past experience with our forum we don’t think that will happen much.
